Title Director of Engineering

Location : Santa Clara, CA

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering teams to innovatively develop and enhance product lines.
  • Provide technical leadership to company.
  • Provide periodic engineering and project status to management.
  • Develop plan to optimize product cost and features capabilities.
  • Work with collaborators, partners, and vendors to optimize product commercialization.
  • Identify related programs and write proposals to secure program funding.
  • Integrate with (and improve upon) current company product delivery processes.
  • Develop quality metrics and reporting tools to support the efficient execution and control of product development and processes.
  • Responsible for overall coordination and integration of project work teams to ensure adherence to policies, achievement of quality targets and delivery on schedule milestones.
  • Requirements:
    • 7+ years experience in managing an engineering group across multiple areas, including fiber optic devices, instrumentation, and sensing.
    • Strong work ethic with entrepreneurial attitude for start-up venture.
    • Demonstrated successful leadership of small teams.
    • Experienced in securing and managing government funded programs.
    • Intense focus on execution excellence, with outstanding organization, project management, and process engineering skills.
    • Proven experience in taking an R&D effort to full commercialization.
    • Ability to develop and lead organizations.
    • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
    • Ideal candidate is familiar with the optical and electrical instrumentation, optical devices, and networking.
  • Education:
    • MS or higher degree is preferred in related fields.


Engineer / Technician

Location : Santa Clara, CA

Description Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on product development of fiber optic devices and sensors. This may include design, fabrication, packaging, and testing.
  • Integrate analog and digital electronic components into optical sensing system.
  • Develop software packages related to system graphical user interface (GUI), system operations, and instrumentation.
  • Utilize industry simulation tools for system and application modeling.
  • Optimize product hardware cost and current and planned features capabilities.
  • Contribute technical material to selected proposals to secure program funding.
  • Identify creative solutions to improve system and sensor product offerings.
  • Work with engineering and management team to collectively meet market requirements.
  • Document engineering work as input for company collateral and patent requirements.
  • Coordination with project work teams to ensure adherence to policies, achievement of quality targets and delivery on schedule milestones.
  • Requirements: 2+ years experience in successfully:
    • Performing engineering across multiple areas, including fiber optic devices, instrumentation, and sensing.
    • Conducting and analyzing system simulations.
    • Providing practical hands-on problem solving skills.
    • Strong work ethic with entrepreneurial attitude for start-up venture.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
    • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
    • Proven experience in developing commercially tested products.
    • Ideal candidate is a team player familiar with the optical and electrical instrumentation, optical devices, and networking.
  • Education :
    • Engineering BS or MS degree required in related fields.

Program Manager
